No doubt Cindy McCain cares about her husband and children.  Yet, it did seem like a bit of pimping was going on when she spent so much time on how she sacrificed (the trials of an heiress, oh my) so much to rescue her daughter Bridget from Bangladesh.  Makes Angelina Jolie seem positively camera-shy by comparison.

Whether you like Angelina or not, she does bring in the bucks to her causes.   Cindy only wants attention to herself to take people's minds off the fact that her party has been IN THE WAY of any reform as it concerns the plights of the less privileged.  Poor Ernestine, tsk, the only example of what a Republican trophy wife can do between pedicures.

Catch Sarah Palin's speech at the GOP Convention last night?  I sure did.  I was hoping that she'd tank, but she was a smash.  Sure, the speech was written by a hand-picked group of Bush speechwriters.  We still don't know if these are her positions or if she can just read a teleprompter well, maybe both.  However, she got the audience on her feet and managed to ignite the crowd's knee-jerk resentment of urban sophisticates.

Was she trying to appeal to me--a 40ish white woman from south suburban Denver & formerly from a town smaller than Wasilla?  Maybe.  However, the "those city folks just don't get it" has been done already.  I need solutions.  Sure, no one likes taxes, but at least the Dems are honest when they tax & spend, and historically, they aren't any worse than the Republicans.  The Reps just spend and spend.  Has Palin noticed that much of our tax payer $ is paying for a war in Iraq which was started on a false premise?  Is she going to slash the budget on that?  True, the government shouldn't raise my child or wipe my ass.  But does she think spending our $ to keep the Iraqis in line is a good use of my hard-earned money?  Oh, wait she does.  Or at least her speechwriters do.

Obama/Biden supporters, we shouldn't underestimate Sarah Palin or question why she's raising 5 kids while running for Vice President.  It's none of our business.  I'm a working mom, working not out of love for my glamorous career (it's not), but to put a roof over our heads (and it's a very humble roof!).  I've been questioned about my "choice," and it's none of anyone's business. Bringing this up IS sexist.  But as far as her knowledge on the economy, foreign policy, education, the gloves are off!
